Elena Nevolina, ACHI Executive Director, participated in the XIV All-Russian Research and Practice Conference with international participation MEDICINE AND QUALITY – 2021, which was held in Moscow on December 7–8, 2021.
Within the framework of the conference on December 8, the session “New coronavirus infection COVID-19: lessons of the pandemic” was held under the co-chairmanship of A.V. Samoilova, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, and E.M. Astapenko, Director of the Department of Regulation for Medicine and Medical Devices Distribution of the Ministry of Health of Russia. During the event, Elena Nevolina spoke about how to organize the sale of prescription-only drugs in the Russian Federation. After noting the problems associated with the frequent violations of prescription rules by pharmacies, Elena Viktorovna emphasized the importance of timely implementation of electronic prescriptions and the full-scale operation of the drug monitoring system. These two systems work together to compare data on prescribed and sold medicines and reduce the risks of unsafe use of drugs by the population, which is extremely important for the formation of a culture of responsible self-care.
The conference MEDICINE AND QUALITY is held annually by the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare with the participation of heads of the Russian Ministry of Health, the Federal Health Insurance Fund, regional health authorities and medical organizations. The purpose of the event is the annual summarizing of the results achieved in the development of the Russian health care system and determining the prospects for medical organizations in the field of quality for the next year.
